This beautiful Six Directions set with the Mountain Lion as the largest animal was carved from various stones by Zuni artist Clive Hustito. The stones are chosen for the color they represent. Each of these colors is a directional color. North is the Mountain Lion --Picasso marble; and tied in a bundle on his back are the following directions. Nadir (down) is the Mole carved from jet--black; East is the Wolf carved from shell--yellow; Zenith (up) is the Eagle carved from shell--all colors; West is the Bear carved from turquoise--blue; South is the Badger carved from shell--red. A wonderful and very unusual set.
