Tayron Polequaptewa

Tayron Polequaptewa (1969-- ) from Second Mesa, AZ. He is called "Tay" by family and friends. Tayron carves Traditional or Old Style dolls as does his brother Ryon who also has work at Kachina House. Tayron helped teach his brother Ryon as well as Augustine Mowa III how to carve. Tayron has won numerous awards and he enjoys carving Katsinam because "it is a major part of the Hopi traditiona. Dolls are used as teaching tools."
