Robert Tenorio
Robert Tenorio (1950-- ) was born to Andrew and Juanita Tenorio on the Santo Domingo pueblo. He loved dabbling in clay and got so proficient at it that pottery helped pay his way through school. where he learned to create pottery the modern way with processed clay and electric kilns. When he returned home he "started over" using native clays and the traditional firing methods of his ancestors. He is proud of his traditional polychrome jars and pots with the centuries-old Santo Domingo designs. He has great reverence for his heritage however he also enjoys creating and applying slips and unique designs that are his personal style. Robert garnered his first award in 1971 from the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. He has been winning ribbons ever since.
