This beautiful Corn Maiden fetish contains four maidens. It was carved from turquoise with coral accents by Zuni fetish carver Kateri Sanchez. Both sides of this carving shows the young women with all the "fruit" of the corn. Just as a mother nurtures her newborn, the Corn Maiden is honored for nurturing her people with the flesh of her body, the sweet corn.
