Zuni Carved Honey Badger Fetish by Clive Hustito

This honey badger was carved from obsidian concretion complete with an offering bundle (which amplifies the animal's power) and turquoise eyes by Zuni artist Clive Hustito. Badger represents passion and persistence, particularly in tight situations. Thhis fierce, tenacious animals uses those personality traits as well as physical strength to overcome much larger foes. Badger is the guardian animal of the South. This particular badger is a concretion, meaning a stone that is found with the basic shape and little is done to carve the animal. This is an incredibly difficult stone to carve, and sparks fly when it is ground.
