This Katsina originates from either Laguna or Santo Domingo Pueblo. He appears in summer and night dances. He carries rings in one hand and a stick in the other. He throws the rings in the air one at a time and tries to catch them on his stick. If/when he gets all his rings on the stick he can go home. This is the gamble. His mask can appear with stripes, much like the Tobacco Flower. This is a beautiful piece with crisp painting.
