This wonderful lidded pot was handbuilt and handpainted and etched by Mata Ortiz resident Gabriela Corona. This piece has painted and etched rabbits buzzing all around the pot. I particularly like the lid that is in the shape of a rabbit. For many Native Americans, rabbit represents gentleness, charm, and the importance of family. Rabbit is the special guardian of pregnant women bringing safe childbirth and a long life for the children. Pottery ring included.<.25/p>
