This is a wonderful piece created by Anderson Peyneta Jr and his mother, Avelina. The red clay is coated with white slip and then painted with frogs and dragonflies. Frog is a water sign and as water is one of the most vital parts of life for the Pueblo people, he is always held in high regard. The dragonfly represents purity, swiftness, transformation and healing. It is also a sign of summertime, beauty and rain.
