Zuni Carved Frog Fetish by Clive Hustito

This is a wonderful example of a concretion fetish...one that is mostly the shape of the stone, with small enhancements carved and added by the artist. This frog, eating a centipede, was carved from spotted serpentine by Zuni artist Clive Hustito. Frog is a water sign and as water is one of the most vital parts of life for the Pueblo people, he is always held in high regard.
