Native American Santa Clara Handbuilt and Handcarved Buffalo
Description
Native American Santa Clara Handbuilt and Handcarved Buffalo by Dorothy Gutierrez (1940- )
These wonderful buffalo were handbuilt and carved by Santa Clara potter Dorothy Gutierrez. We do not believe Dorothy is making pottery any longer. The buffalo represents good medicine, the fulfillment of powers and steadfast endurance. The buffalo was the mainstay of the Plains Indians and was used for food as well as shelter, clothing and weapons. This sweet pair is in perfect condition.
