Native American San Ildefonso Handbuilt Pot with Beaded Neck
Description
Native American San Ildefonso Handbuilt Pot with Beaded Neck by Erik Fender
This is a spectacular handbuilt pot by renowned San Ildefonso potter Erik Fender (Than Tsideh). This contemporary piece has two strands of hand-ground olivella and turquoise inset into the neck separated by a textured blackware stripe. The perfect shape and combination of texture and smooth is unparalleled. The classic painted designs of feathers and dragonflies are pristine. Erik is not only a skilled and exacting jeweler, but also just as skilled in his pottery. We are thrilled that he agreed to work with us. This is the first piece he created where he used all three of his clay colors; the red, pink and the beautiful black.
