Native American Navajo Made Cross Pendant
Description
Native American Navajo Made Cross Pendant by Thomasine Stago
This beautiful Sterling cross pendant comes from the Spainairds. In the 1600s the Conquistadors wore these pendants for protection. They also had them on their horses to protect the horse and rider. The Natives adopted this piece because it reminded them of the North Star. It was not until later, that they adopted it as a Christian symbol as well. This larger cross was created by Navajo silversmith Thomasine Stago. The cross is 3 inches long complete and 1.75 inches wide.
