Native American Hopi Made Cuff Bracelet--Man in the Maze

Description

Native American Hopi Made Cuff Bracelet--Man in the Maze by Shayne Joseph

This pristine overlay Sterling silver cuff has a center pattern of the Man in the Maze. The sides feature bear paws. This piece was created by Hopi master silversmith Shayne Joseph. The Great Seal of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community is this ancient pattern. The pattern has long been used in Pima baskets and represents the Maze, or house, of Se-eh-ha. The legend states the Man in the Maze helps children understand the meaning of life. The maze depicts experiences and choices we make in our journey. It illustrates the search for balance; physical, social, mental and spiritual. In the middle of the maze are found a person's dreams and goals. Legend says when we reach the center, the Sun God is there to greet us, bless us and pass us into the next world. Bear is the guardian of the West. The bear is associated with great strength and is considered to be a powerful healer. The medallion is 1.5 inches in diameter. The cuff tapers from one inch to .5 inches wide.
