Native American Navajo Handbuilt Pitch Bowl with Corn
Description
Native American Navajo Handbuilt Pitch Bowl with Corn by Andraya Yazzie
This wonderful bowl with a corn plant and two cobs of corn on the inside was handbuilt by Navajo potter Andraya Yazzzie, daughter of master potter Betty Manygoats. Corn is the staple crop of the Native Americans. This traditional piece was waterproofed by dipping the just-fired hot pottery in hot pine pitch. We are grateful to have traditional Navajo handbuilt pottery in our shop. This bowl CANNOT hold liquid.
