Native American Made Wolf Hunter Katsina Doll
Description
Native American Made Wolf Hunter Katsina Doll by Sammie Walker (Navajo-Hopi)
The Wolf (Kweo) is often seen in the Soyohim Dances accompanied by the Deer or Mountain Sheep Katsina. His sharp teeth are visible to boast the wolf's prowess as a hunter. This piece was created in a style that is unusual today. Very few of the artists make the Native American dolls this way. The action is wonderful and the carving, painting and details, especially his teeth, are fabulous.
