Native American Made Men's Traditional Dancer Katsina Doll
Description
Native American Made Men's Traditional Dancer Katsina Doll by Sammie Walker (Navajo-Hopi)
The Traditional Dancer appears during the Mixed Dances with every and any other type of dancer. This type of dancer is one of the "collective dancers" and they appear as singles and sometimes multiples. This is a classic design for a men's traditional dancer. They join other dancers to make a beautiful dance. They dance for rain, crops, food and the celebration of harvest. Very few of the artists make the Native American dolls this way. The action is wonderful and the carving, painting and details are very accurate.
