The Parrot Kachina is one of several bird Kachinas credited with bringing abundant summer growth to the corn crops on the Mesas. The feathers of the parrot were prized by Paleo-Indian groups. Feathers and even live parrots were traded from Central America as far north as the Four Corners area. The action is wonderful and the carving, painting and details are very accurate.
