Native American Hopi Carved Mocking Katsina Doll--Boston Marathon
Description
Native American Hopi Carved Mocking Katsina Doll--Boston Marathon by Danny Lanza
The Mocking Katsina (Kwikwilyaka or Pachavu) appears in the Mixed and Summer dances. He gives commentary on improper social behavior. This Katsina mimics the actions of others. This wonderful piece was created by Danny Lanza to pay tribute to the 2013 Boston Marathon. This Mocking is dressed in a patriot-style coat with tails, no sleeves of course, patterned with stars and stripes and holding up the Peace Sign. Not only is the Mocking back on his feet, but Boston is as well.
