Native American Zuni Made Kokopelli Earrings with Turquoise
Description
Native American Zuni Made Kokopelli Earrings with Turquoise by Brad Panteah
These beautifully made Sterling silver and copper earrings of Kokopelli with Sleeping Beauty turquoise show him dancing to his flute playing. Kokopelli is an engaging image that originated in the ancient Anasazi culture and was brought into the present by the Pueblo Indians. This classic figure of a bent over figure playing a flute has been associated with shamanism and supernatural qualities. He is a magical being who, by playing his flute, calls the clouds to make rain. Kokopelli is also a symbol for fertility because he carries seeds and mist in his hump. Master silversmith Brad Panteah did a wonderful job combining the silver with the copper. The figure has a really rhythmic shape, he seems so happy.
