This Hopi wicker plaque is used for payback and for ceremonies. This particular one is the first one that Auri created after she took a class.. These baskets are made by plaiting sumac, natural and dyed, to achieve many designs. Many of the Hopi wickers, coils, and sifters are used for social or ceremonial purposes.
