Native American Hopi Made Tray
Description
Native American Hopi Made Tray by Dorleen Gashweseoma
Women on all three mesas make plaited sifter baskets. These baskets are made by plaiting yucca fibers, either natural or dyed, to achieve many designs. Many of the Hopi wickers, coils, and sifters are used for social or ceremonial purposes. Dorleen is an award-winning basketmaker and uses all natural dyes. This unique piece is woven onto a metal stand with handles. A really cool piece by Dorleen.
