Native American Hopi Carved Proud Warrior Katsina Doll
Description
Native American Hopi Carved Proud Warrior Katsina Doll by L. Hording
Proud War God (Pookang Kwivi) represents the spirit of Pookanghoya as he would appear in his best finery. He often appears in the Mixed Katsina Dances and in the Night Dances. He is a warrior or a Fighting Katsina. The double lines on his chest are warrior tracks. We acquired this beautiful piece through a private collector and we do not know the carver's first name.
