Native American Hopi Made Sifter Baskets--Tiny
Description
Native American Hopi Made Tiny Sifter Baskets by Shanna Patterson
Women on all three mesas make plaited sifter baskets. These baskets are made by plaiting yucca fibers, either natural or dyed, to achieve many designs. Many of the Hopi wickers, coils, and sifters are used for social or ceremonial purposes. These tiny sifter baskets were woven on a metal ring.
