This wonderful Laguna Maiden Crown Dancer is not a Katsina at all. This carving is a tribute to women and the pottery they create and the water they carry to the pueblo. Water is life and these women spend much of their time ensuring that their family will not have to go without. This beautiful piece shows a pot, stars and prayer feathers on her tablita (crown), flowers and a sunface adorn the band of her apron. The base is reflects the crown with raindrops connecting the rainclouds. A great piece by a very talented man.
