Mata Ortiz Handbuilt and Handpainted Pot by Lydia Quezada

This wonderful pot was handbuilt and handpainted by Mata Ortiz resident Lydia Quezada. A spectacular piece with pristine painting all set on a beautiful black background. The glossy black is achieved by rubbing a mixture of kerosene and graphite into the clay and polishing it with a stone until it shines. This pot is spectacular to look at and when it is held, feels perfect to the touch. Pottery stand included.
